Atta ka Halwa or whole-wheat flour based sweet dessert is an easy to make dish for those with a sweet tooth. Here’s a simple P Mark Atta Halwa recipe to make your day!

Recipe Servings: 4

Ingredients:

1/2 cup P Mark whole wheat flour
1/3 cup ghee, clarified butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups water
10-12 raisins
1/4 teaspoon cardamom coarsely ground
2 tablespoons sliced almonds
1 tablespoon pistachios sliced for garnishing

Method

Step 1 –

In a pan dissolve the sugar in the water over medium high heat and keep on simmer, till required.

Step 2

In a deep, heavy based sauce pan, melt the ghee add P Mark wholewheat flour and stir fry over medium/low heat till it turns golden brown and have a sweet aroma. Remember the colour of the flour will turn lighter after adding the sugar syrup, so make sure to roast well for about 7-8 minutes.

Step 3

Now add the sugar solution slowly to limit splattering, and keep stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Now add the cardamom, raisings, and half the almonds and cook till it’s of desired consistency.

Step 4

Serve hot, garnished with the almonds and pistachios.
